I personally have been primarily trail running in Salomon Speedcross trail runners since the Speecross 4. I continue to buy Speedcross shoes everytime they go on sale, so I always have another ready to go.
I am not into my first two pairs of the Salomon Speedcross 6s, and they perform just as awesome as the previous generations.

Me with the Speedcross 6s on the WURL
As stated before, the Speedcross series has been my go to trail runner. I’ve completed most of the Colorado 14ers in these shoes, completed the WURL in them, and run and hiked in all possible weather conditions.
For the Speedcross 6, I have starting using them in Utah. I have hundreds of miles in them on all types of terrain and trail, and even did completed the WURL in this shoe because I trust it so much.

Our Review
Grip & Traction
This is the best feature of these trail runners. By far, these have the best traction of any trail runner we have used. They are incredible for snow, mud, dirt, or gravel. There is no change from 5 to 6 in performance that we can see.
Weight & Comfort
These are such comfortable trail runners. They have breathability, but fit the foot perfectly. They are snug, which is necessary for this style trail runner, but the breathability is super nice on hot days.
These are slightly lighter than the previous generation and are overall lightweight shoes, though there are lighter trail runners out there.
Laces
The lace system on these trail runners is awesome. The quick lacing is effective, efficient, and easy to use. Another great feature of these. There is no difference from the 5 to the 6 here.
Durability
We are burning through these shoes no faster or slower than the previous generations. They are of medium durability compared to other trail runners we have tried. Nothing to complain about here.
Looks
Simply put, these are great looking shoes. All of the color variations.
